WHAT WE DO

Graykite’s mission is to share our love for kiteboarding on surf and snow with as many people as possible. It’s as simple as that.

Since 2015 we have been running a kitesurfing school in Tarifa and a snowkiting school in Canmore. We also ran a kitesurf school for a while in Boracay until they shut the island!

In 2019 we are opening the world’s only snowkite school in a ski resort in Sierra Nevada, Spain and a new kitesurfing school in Cape Town,

We follow established, proven teaching methodologies based on personal experience and human psychology to help you learn in the most enjoyable and effective way possible. To help us get get our ideas and techniques across to you we’ve handpicked some of the finest instructors in the world to head up our teams.

Within our teams we have specialist in kids tuition, disabled windsport tuition and instructors qualified to teach to Olympic level. You’re in safe hands with us.

OUR TEAM LEADERS

Our team leaders are some of the most experienced and passionate instructors anywhere in the world. Betweenthem they have over 30 years of teaching experience and they’re more than happy to share everything they know about the sport and their home towns with you. This combination of teaching and local expertise means you’ll have a fantastic time on the board and a memorable time off it.

All our team leaders are qualified with the relevant authorities (national sailing clubs and/or IKO)

Global Team Leader

GRAY ROBINSON

Gray is our global team leader and our hands on team leader at our Tarifa kitesurfing school from March through November. He has personally taught over 4,000 men, women, girls and boys to kitesurf. His pupils have ranged from 6 years of age to 79 years young; some being the larger than small type people, and some being the smaller than large ones, including very fit and getting fitter individuals.

As well as being a very experienced instructor who has run and built kite schools in 8 countries, Gray knows down to the most detailed reasons what to do to ensure your success in learning the sport of kitesurfing. If that’s not enough, Gray’s also a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, a PADI scuba instructor, fitness instructor and first aid medic instructor.

Tarifa Team Leader

MIGUEL RIOJA

Miguel Rioja is a passionate watersports enthusiast. He began teaching sailing in 1998 and has since since taught kiteboarding and windsurfing in many countries arond the world.

Thousands of people between the ages of 3 and 80 have been initiated into the sailing sports by Miguel and most of them continue sailing to this day! He speaks English, French, Spanish and Catalan, and is qualified to teach kitesurfing anywhere in the world.

Miguel has competed in a variety of sports, including swimming, pool, football and windsurfing slalom and loves to share his experiences with everybody. He’s also a Foreign Language teacher, Naturopath (specialist in Acupuncture), Web designer…our very own polymath!

Cape Town Team Leader

WILLIAM AUSTIN

William Austin is our very own local expert, down here in the wild south west.
Having both worked on the kite surfing rescue boat service on main beach Langebaan and instructor teaching experience, Williams number 1 objective is your progression and safety.
Having family roots in Langebaan and growing up in these waters, he is the perfect local host to make sure you have a highly progressive and fun kite surfing holiday with us, in both Langebaan and Cape Town.
